# Through the Eyes of the Fearless by John Kurtz (Paperback)

Written as an informative and sensitive commentary, recording the everyday changes, struggles and progression of bipolar, the book is both an introspection and a relentless search for the cause. An unforgiving scrutiny of the journey of the self, it tries to paint a true picture of the disease and its psychological impact on the psyche. With its diverse layers, the mind envelopes within its folds, issues and events that have roots in childhood - mostly playing at a subconscious level - that are very difficult to decipher. At every level of consciousness, it is often a fight with the self, not wanting to succumb to the directives that take one down the hill. Mental illness and its crippling effect notwithstanding, the author's brutally honest depiction tries to throw light on the real picture, even amidst the fear of exposing the self to humanity's lack of perception and thereby the absence of empathy towards the victim's state of mind.
