### Author Biography

Caitlin R. Kiernan is the author of nine novels, including _Silk, Threshold, Low Red Moon, Murder of Angels, Daughter of Hounds_, and _The Red Tree_. Her award-winning short fiction has been collected in six volumes, including _Tales of Pain and Wonder; To Charles Fort, With Love; Alabaster;_ and, most recently, _A is for Alien_. She has also published two volumes of erotica, _Frog Toes and Tentacles_ and _Tales from the Woeful Platypus_. Trained as a vertebrate paleontologist, she currently lives in Providence, Rhode Island.
