### Author Biography

**Ted Bell** was the vice-chairman of the board and creative director of Young & Rubicam, one of the world's largest advertising agencies. He was also the _New York Times_ bestselling author of the Alex Hawke series as well as the YA adventure novels _Nick of Time_ and _The Time Pirate_. He passed away in January 2023.

**Ryan Steck** is the author of _Fields of Fire_, _Lethal Range_, _Redd Christmas_, _Out for Blood_, _Ted Bell's Monarch_, _Gone Dark_, and _The Second Son_. He is also a freelance editor, the founder and editor-in-chief of The Real Book Spy, and he was named an online influencer by Amazon.
