### Author Biography

GARY JENNINGS, author of the _New York Times_ bestseller _Aztec,_ was known for the rigorous and intensive research behind his novels, which often include hazardous travels--exploring every corner of Mexico for his _Aztec_ novels, retracing the numerous wanderings of Marco Polo for _The Journeyers_, joining nine different circuses for _Spangle_, and roaming the Balkans for _Raptor_. Jennings passed away in 1999.
