### Author Biography

**Katie Kitamura** is a critic and novelist living in New York City. She is the author of _Gone to the Forest_ and _The Longshot_, both of which were finalists for the New York Public Library's Young Lions Fiction Award. A recipient of a Lannan Residency Fellowship, Kitamura has written for _The New York Times_, _The Guardian_, _Granta_, _BOMB_, _Triple Canopy_, and is a regular contributor to _Frieze_.
